Ultrasound
A positive pregnancy test is only the first step in establishing a diagnosis of pregnancy. Our certified sonography trained, registered nurse uses ultrasound technology to determine the viability of a pregnancy.
We are able to see a beating heart, measure how far along a pregnancy is, and assess early detection of a non-intrauterine pregnancy. Our Medical Director, a physician, reads every ultrasound to ultimately confirm the diagnosis of pregnancy.
The ultrasound can assist in several important areas:

Determine if there is a non-intrauterine pregnancy or a pregnancy outside of the womb, which can be life threatening.

Determine how far along the patient is in the pregnancy. (Determine gestational age of the fetus.)

Look for signs of viability. (A viable pregnancy is one that is capable of developing under normal conditions.)
